TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF COURSE BOOKING

Solent Experience Ltd trading as Solent Medical Skills

Please note: We charge a fee of 25% of the course price for course cancellations where less than 3 weeks’ notice is given, a 50% fee when there is less than 10 days’ notice and full fees if cancellation is within 3 days of the course. All other cancellations will attract a 10% fee. A client cancellation is only deemed effective when received in writing by Solent Medical Skills, otherwise the learner will be considered a no-show and full fees will be charged. Where a delegate fails to complete a course, any course fees still outstanding must still be paid.

Some courses delivered by Solent Medical Skills carry pre-requirements, pre-requisites or parameters for post-course learning activities e.g. the learner must possess particular qualifications or complete mandatory preparatory study or pre-course reading in order to join the course; or must complete post-course learning, such as practice-based hours or assessment tasks, within a particular timeframe. Where there is a prerequisite or post-course requirement associated with a course, Solent Medical Skills will indicate this via the course details on the website. It is the learner’s responsibility to ensure all pre-requirements are met, to ascertain relevant details prior to booking a course and to provide Solent Medical Skills with sight of certificates in advance of the course commencing. If a learner attends a course without providing evidence of prerequisites, or completing mandatory preparation or pre-course reading, they will be deemed a no-show, will not be able to take part in the course and full fees will be charged. The learner is also responsible for ensuring that any post-course requirements are met within the allotted timeframe and no refunds are available to any learner who fails to do so. Exceptions will be made only in the case of extreme extenuating circumstances and with the prior written agreement of Solent Medical Skills and the relevant awarding body.

Solent Medical Skills is committed to the highest standards of practice and to maintaining the integrity of professional qualifications in pre-hospital medicine. As a provider of accredited training, we maintain strict standards to ensure that qualifications are only awarded to those who have demonstrated achievement of the relevant learning outcomes. In all suspected cases of learner malpractice or cheating (e.g. plagiarism, falsification of evidence or collusion) we will notify the awarding body and work in partnership with them to investigate. Penalties for learner malpractice will be determined in consultation with the awarding body and with consideration of the seriousness of the offence and may include: disqualification from the unit or the full programme; bans, i.e. further and future registration of the learner will not be accepted for this or other qualifications; certificates not issued or cancelled. Any learner who is found to have cheated will be deemed to have forfeited any course fees, as will any learner who provides false information about pre-requisites.

Very rarely a course may need to be cancelled or postponed. Solent Medical Skills shall be entitled to cancel a course where we need to do so due to circumstances outside of our control. Solent Medical Skills shall have no liability for losses or costs which you may incur due to such cancellation but we shall refund any booking payment or offer an alternative course date.
