World famous Air Zermatt has been at the forefront of mountain rescue and saving lives for 45 years. It operates 9 helicopters from 3 bases and has 65 staff. Through Solent Medical Skills, medically trained personnel (minimum FREC 3) who are currently operating in a front-line capacity can attend this unique and fascinating 2-day course.
Training takes place at Zermatt in Switzerland (flights, trains and accommodation not included). Learners will make their way to either Geneva or Zurich and then take the train to Zermatt. The village itself is situated some 4000 feet up at the base of the Matterhorn and is a car-free zone. Cars can be left at the next village down the valley, with regular train connections to Zermatt.
Accommodation options are varied and suit all budgets, with hostels, hotels and airbnb available. Zermatt is a world-class ski resort, so why not add a few days to your trip and enjoy the slopes!
Dates will be announced in mid-February 2019. Anyone who is interested, please contact us with your preferred dates in 2019 and we will aim to arrange a course to suit. We need a minimum of 6 people (a group or individuals) for a course to run and will need to get all interested people to agree on those dates.
