FREC - FIRST RESPONSE EMERGENCY CARE - Pre-hospital medical training In Southampton

Solent Medical Skills is a leading provider of the FREC pathway suite of qualifications. At our modern Southampton waterside centre, we deliver the Level 3 and 4 Certificates and Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF).

COVID – 19

During the current crisis, we are running FREC courses as normal and will continue to train at our Southampton centre. To minimise risk, we ask learners to notify us if they or anyone they are in contact with develop symptoms of the virus and to move their course to a later date by simply picking one and booking again (no extra cost to the learner). We have been doing Lateral Flow testing on students as they arrive for the first course day for over 9 months. This is continuing and we are now asking learners to bring their own NHS supplied and free test kits with them.

Rigorous infection control procedures are in place in the training centre, including: temperature checking of learners on arrival and each day; physical distancing in the classroom; strictly enforced hygiene procedures; thorough cleaning routines

Blood testing for industry

We can do blood testing to determine exposure levels to heavy metals like lead etc. This is ideally done before first exposure and then every 3 months thereafter to determine blood load. We will take intravenous samples that will be anylised by a hospital pathology laboratory for accurate testing. Please ring us for a quote!

FREC Level 3, 4 and Diploma Level 5
