Basic Life Support, AED and Management of Anaphylaxis

QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (QCF) 3 hour course

Basic Life Support, AED and Management of Anaphylaxis (3 hour) course – £35 per person delivered at our Southampton premises.

This course is ideal as a GP/Dental surgery annual staff refresher.  Most surgeries have historically done a one hour refresher and whilst this is not illegal, the risk falls on the employer if, after an incident equipment is deemed inadequate or staff are shown to have been poorly trained.  Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now common in public buildings, workplaces and community spaces. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an appropriately trained person is on hand to use the AED. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is widely recognised as a key technique improving the survival chances of someone suffering cardiac arrest. High quality training boosts skills and confidence, greatly increasing the likelihood that someone will provide effective CPR when it’s needed. Through this practical course, attendees will get hands-on practice in performing CPR and using an AED, increasing their ability to use one competently and with confidence in a genuine emergency. Attendees who successfully complete the course attain a Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF), a nationally recognised Qualsafe-accredited qualification. The course meets the requirements for resuscitation training for clinical settings such as GP surgeries. Content includes:

  • Recognising cardiac arrest
